Our Story

Located on Chicago’s diverse south side neighborhood, Apex Medical Research, founded in 2005, is a multi-specialty dedicated research facility conducting phase I to phase IV research trials. Apex’s staff has conducted over 200 clinical research trials in the therapeutic areas of Diabetes Mellitus Type II, Hypertension, Hyperlipidemia, Chronic Kidney Disease, Cardiovascular Disease, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Pain Management, Neuropathy, Gynecology, Men’s Health, Ophthalmology, and Oncology.

Dr. Ahmed, our Medical Director, completed one of his first studies in the 90’s as a principal investigator. This study titled “Effect of Statin Treatment vs Usual Care on Primary Cardiovascular Prevention Among Older Adults” was a landmark study as it focused on how hypertensive medications worked in the minority population. Hundreds of studies were subsequently inspired by these results.
